“Rubbish removal without the rubbish: just honest pricing, brilliant work, and old-fashioned service you can trust.”
2025 highlights
A highlight of 2025 was the story of Jean and Ron, an elderly couple downsizing their long-time home on the Central Coast. What began as a routine clean-out became a journey through a lifetime of memories. Matt and the team handled the cleanup and removal with extraordinary care. They sorted belongings, ensuring that they preserved precious war medals and family photos, and even found new homes for two beloved pianos rather than sending them to the landfill.
With multiple visits, he coordinated closely with the couple’s daughter to ensure nothing sentimental was lost. By the end, Jean and Ron were safely settled into aged care, and their daughter, Kathy, was over the moon with our service. She described Matt as “respectful, understanding, and exceptional” – rating his help “6 stars out of 5”. Feedback like that warms our hearts and reminds us why we do what we do.
Matt also proved his multi-skilled talents and rolled up his sleeves for a considerable excavation and landscaping project in Terrigal this year. David and Margaret needed to reclaim a steep, overgrown hillside on their 4.5-acre property. The area had become inaccessible, and with Margaret relying on a mobility scooter, she was missing out on parts of the property she dearly wanted to enjoy. Matt worked with David to develop a sustainable plan to restore safe access to the tricky slopes. Repurposing and recycling were key; instead of defaulting to concrete or steel, he stabilised the hillside with natural solutions. David, a self-confessed conservationist, was thrilled with his use of recycled materials.
The team cleared wild vegetation, transplanted trees to prevent erosion, and built over 1.5 km of sturdy pathways using cut-and-fill techniques and an innovative GEOWEB grid made from recycled plastic. This created a stable new gravel path through the trees and restored safe access on a previously overgrown hillside. In under 25 days, the once-neglected slope was transformed into a terraced garden oasis.
Compassion during difficult times
Not all jobs are about heavy lifting; some involve heavy hearts. This year, we had the privilege of helping a client named Peter with a deceased estate clean-up under very difficult circumstances. Within a short span, Peter tragically lost his sister and brother-in-law, and suddenly became caregiver to his young niece. On top of everything, he now faces clearing out his late sister’s house, as you can imagine, it is an overwhelming task for one person.
Peter found Rov’s after searching for a company that could handle the job with compassion, and as a family-owned business, we made sure he felt supported from the first phone call.
Hayley listened with empathy and assured Peter that he wasn’t alone, and arranged a prompt visit to plan the clean-up.
When Matt arrived on site, he met Moonlight, a 19-year-old black cat that belonged to Peter’s niece. The family had no one able to take in the elderly cat. On the spot, Matt improvised a pet carrier from laundry baskets, gently coaxed Moonlight inside, and personally drove her from the Central Coast to Western Sydney to a family willing to give this beloved pet a new home.
This simple act of kindness brought immense relief to Peter’s niece, knowing her cherished companion was safe and loved. With Moonlight rehomed, our crew shifted focus to clearing the house. Peter stayed with us during the process to set aside treasured items, and we worked patiently and respectfully, checking with him before removing anything sentimental.
What had felt like a monumental task became manageable and calm. “Rov’s treated us like family, turning an overwhelming situation into something calm, manageable, and incredibly compassionate,” Peter later said
Knowing we could help lift that burden for Peter and his niece has been yet another reminder of why we go above and beyond. Rubbish removal isn’t just about junk – done with heart, it can genuinely help people heal.

Servicing the region
From our base on the Central Coast, our work in 2025 took us all over our beautiful region. From the busy suburbs of Western Sydney to the bushy blocks of Terrigal, the surrounds of Lake Macquarie, and from Newcastle’s city buzz to the tranquil Blue Mountains, we’ve been on the move helping folks reclaim their spaces.
We clear out sheds full of memories, backyards full of branches, and garages full of “I’ll get to it” clutter, along with excavation services and mobile skip bins. We do what you don’t want to, and we do it with a smile.
As we close out 2025, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our customers, both new and old, for trusting Rov’s this year.
It’s been a pleasure to help you tidy up, rebuild, or start fresh. We hope these stories give you a sense of the passion and family values we bring to every job.If you need us over the Christmas and New Year period, we are on call. Our mobile skip bins are at the ready, and Matt and his team can be on-site when you need. Except for Christmas day, of course, Matt needs to play Santa to his lovely children.
