Terms & Conditions – Rov’s Mobile Skip Bin Hire
1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions apply to the hire of our Mobile Skip Bins (“Equipment”). By hiring a skip bin from Rov’s, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
Rov’s remains the legal owner of all Equipment at all times. Title or ownership of the Equipment is never transferred to you.
2. Hire Period
- Standard hire is up to 3 days.
- Extensions may be arranged, subject to availability and additional fees.
- The hire period begins from delivery and ends when the bin is collected.
3. Equipment Description
- Each mobile skip bin is a 7.5 m³ registered tipper trailer.
- Bins may be placed on public roads (no council permit required) or private property, provided access is safe and legal.
- External fill markers indicate 2.5 m³, 5 m³, and 7.5 m³ levels. Charges are based on the highest marker exceeded.
4. Pricing & Additional Charges
- Hire Fee: Based on the agreed volume filled (2.5 m³, 5 m³, or 7.5 m³).
- Surcharges:
- Mattresses: $85 each
- Tyres: $45 each
- Additional charges may apply for:
- Exceeding weight limits (see Weight Limits below).
- Contamination with prohibited waste (specialist disposal fees will apply).
- Extended hire beyond 3 days.
- Cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice.
- Collection delays caused by lack of access.
All pricing is for general mixed waste only (see restrictions below).
5. Weight Limits & Loading Advice
Each trailer has a maximum capacity of 2,000 kg. Weight limits apply depending on the bin size. Exceeding these limits may result in additional disposal charges or refusal of collection.
| Bin Size | Approx. Capacity | Max Weight (Trailer Limit = 2,000 kg) | Loading Advice |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2.5 m³ | Small load | Up to 700 kg | Suitable for light household waste or small clean-ups. Do not fill with dense materials such as soil, bricks, or concrete as the weight limit will be reached before the bin is full. |
| 5 m³ | Medium load | Up to 1,400 kg | Good for medium clean-ups. Heavy waste (bricks, concrete, soil) should be kept to a minimum to avoid overloading. |
| 7.5 m³ | Large load | Up to 2,000 kg (maximum trailer rating) | Designed for large, lighter mixed loads. Heavy waste will exceed the weight limit well before the bin is full. Use for bulky but lighter materials such as furniture, timber, or packaging. |
- If the skip exceeds 2,000 kg, Rov’s may refuse collection or charge excess disposal fees.
- Additional disposal charges will apply per 100 kg over the limit (based on disposal facility rates).
- Do not fill the bin above the rim. Overfilled or overweight bins cannot be safely transported.
6. Prohibited Waste
You must not place the following items in the skip:
- Hazardous or toxic waste (e.g. asbestos, fibro, chemicals, paints, solvents, oils, medical waste, radioactive material).
- Lithium batteries.
- Liquids of any kind.
- Food waste or perishables (including nappies, cat litter, etc).
- Soils, sand, clay, or turf with excess soil attached.
- Large logs, tree stumps, or oversized green waste.
- Wet concrete or concrete washout.
If such materials are found, you are liable for all costs associated with safe disposal.
7. Use of Equipment
- Do not overload the skip above the rim or exceed weight limits.
- The skip must not be moved, relocated, or towed once delivered.
- Do not machine-load (e.g. with excavators or loaders). Hand-loading only.
- The skip must be safely accessible for collection at the agreed time.
- The hydraulic tipping mechanism must not be operated by the hirer.
8. Liability & Responsibility
- You are responsible for the skip and its contents during the hire period.
- You are liable for any damage, theft, loss, or contamination of the skip.
- Rov’s is not responsible for damage to driveways, lawns, pavements, or surfaces during delivery or collection unless caused by Rov’s’s negligence.
- Once collected, all waste becomes the property of Rov’s for disposal.
9. Cancellation & Variation
- Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance for a full refund.
- Cancellations within 24 hours may incur a cancellation fee.
- Rescheduling within 24 hours of delivery may incur a variation fee.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Rov’s harmless from any claims, costs, or damages arising from your use or misuse of the Equipment, except where caused by Rov’s’s negligence.
